Go there, and do as the instructions say.
When my art was stolen, I got the post reported, and it was taken down. Don’t worry, it doesn’t just take down the sources post, but it takes down all the reblogged posts too.
Please give this a reblog, many artists out there may not know this is here.
And remember, ask permission before sharing, or don’t post it.
/SCREECHES LOUDLY TO EXPRESS OVERWHELMING JOY BECAUSE OF HAVING JUST BOUGHT TICKETS TO SEE NIGHT VALE LIVE
regalbonesfalconhawk asked: So, do many kids celebrate Christmas in Space from just being around kids from Earth? Are there different winter holiday funtimes out there in space? Does the galaxy itself also decorate for Christmas?
VERY GOOD QUESTION! THANK YOU FOR ASKING IT!
The easy answer is: It really depends on where they’re from!
To go into more detail, it also depends on the planets who have relationships with each other.
A great example is Earth and Purple Planet (Ollce).
Earth has really strong ties with Purple Planet so a lot of their culture, architecture, etc, is influenced by them.
So! On Purple Planet, they celebrate Christmas!
With some twists of course.
Instead of a tree, you kind of get this little pot of dirt that has like, a pine tree, or something else that is festive, made out of dirt.
You plant some seeds, or none at all, and water it everyday until Christmas.
What eventually happens is that a bunch of colorful and glowing fungi will grow out of the dirt! Making your own natural little Christmas tree.
They have presents and eat weird Purple food and Santa is purple.
Christmas is Zeggy’s favorite holiday and he is ALWAYS AGGRESSIVELY FESTIVE.
(Old pic, but you get the idea)
As for other holidays around winter on other planets, I’m not quite sure!
Since Space School is technically a collaborative effort I don’t often step into the territory of planets I didn’t invent too often (like Nubia).
But, I’ve a feeling if I’m lucky some of the wonderful Space peeps out there (MABS, NAMI, NIKU, LUKE…) will reblog this with what happens on their respective races planet at those times, as well as what their characters might like to do!
And, for the school itself, most holiday festiveness is tolerated as long as everyone is being a good kid about it, haha!
Space School understands that they students are far far away from their home planet, so they tend to be a little flexible with the rules.
(A lot of the students just visit home tho, as Space travel is pretty easy at this point)
At this point in the future a lot of cultural things are more accepted than they are today— and people are generally less offended, especially if you go to Space School cause a lot of those kids ARE SMART AS HECK.
(But that is a whole other topic)
I can say the people in comic who I know celebrate Christmas! (Non-religiously)
Zeggy, Alkaline, Rex, Dude, Vavara, Maleena, and Dennis. (And probably some other peeps I’m forgetting)
I know Twanny celebrates something different, but I don’t really have anything off the top of my head!
IN GENERAL, THIS TIME OF YEAR IS FESTIVE AND HAPPY FOR THE WHOLE MILKY WAY!
Depends on what planet you are from, but most everywhere has some sort of holiday/festivity for this time of year.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING!
ADDING ONTO THIS. LET’S TALK ABOUT NUBIA, WHERE TOGGY IS FROM.
On Nubia, they don’t really have a Christmas but rather a big celebration of a New Year like holiday where they begin the new calendar year. Like Christmas, it’s a time to celebrate with family and loved ones. Typically people travel long distances to spend the two days reunited with family, and everything shuts down. The most important part of the festivities is to tell stories about the year—letting out stress or frustration while also reliving good moments and bonding with family members. This is always accompanied by large amounts of alcoholic beverages, which are enjoyed by all ages. Oftentimes everyone gets really smashed the first day and then sleeps it off the next.
Food varies from region to region but typically includes mostly unprocessed foods such as berries and vegetables, or dried lizard or fish jerky.
As the festivities mark the beginning of the new year, many Nubians will dye their hair to a different color or get a new piercing around this time.
Have a picture of a drunk Toggy wearing more traditional clothes.
